Volodina M. American-British Cooperation in Reforming NATO (1990-ies - 2004)

The thesis is dedicated to analysis of NATO evolution under the influence of American-British partnership in 1991-2004. Current approaches to the concept of security are critically assessed; correlation of the concepts of collective security and collective defense is established. It is proved, that American-British partnership in 1991-2004 had political, strategic, value, and normative-institutional grounds. They, in turn, followed from a common vision of the architecture of the post-bipolar security. Scientific views of NATO evolution in 1991-2004 are systemized; key problems, guiding evolution of the Euro-Atlantic collective security system are defined.
