Essay

The dissertation is devoted to investigation of mesophase and glass formation in the systems based on cobalt caprylate and its optical and non-linear optical properties.Phase equilibria of eleven binary systems containing cobalt caprylate are studied in details. The temperature - concentration intervals of liquid crystal and mesomorphic glasses formation is defined.The electronic absorption spectra of Co(II) ions in caprylate melts, liquid crystals and glasses are investigated. A dynamic golographic grating has been recorded on mesomorphic glasses of cobalt alkanoates.
