Essay

The thesis deals with the study of mechanism and kinetics of electrode processes of platinum metals in low temperature metals based on carbamide, acetamide, imidazole, thiocarbamide and their mixtures with NH4Cl and with the development of new methods for the electrodeposition of sound Rh, Ir, Ru coatings on metallic substrates. Sound 6.2, 4.6 and 12 mkm thick coatings have been obtained for Rh, Ir and Ru respectively by the electrolysis of carbamide-containing melt and 6.8, 4.6 and 9-12 mkm thick coating from an acetamide-chloride melt. All electrodeposits are fine-crystalline; the size of crystals is 50-500 nm.
