Essay

The interaction between alloys based on IIb, Iva and Va Mendeleyev's groups metals activated Al and Mg and water with hydrogen evolution in the temperature range 150-325 C has been studied in this dissertation work. The base kinetic parameters of process of interaction between alloys and water with hydrogen evolution by volumometric methods have been determined and has been shown that these alloys evolves hydrogen from water with high rate; it reaches 24100 LH2/(m2·min) at 325 C. The phase composition of alloys has been determined by X-ray phase analysis. An analysis of the products of interaction between alloys and water with hydrogen evolution showed that the reaction products are Mg(OH)2 and AlOOH. On a base of electron microscopy data the nano- and microstructure of alloys have been shown.
