Essay

Problems of deformation and stability of elastic circular cylindrical and closed shallow conical shells undergoing non-uniform strain-stress state (SSS) of different nature is numerically studied in ANSYS software. The work is focused on the effect of "static resonance". This effect consist in the increase of static lateral deformation of the shell and decrease of it limit load in a case of non-homogeneous SSS similar to the form of it first eigenvibration mode. The existence of "static resonance" is proved for cylindrical shells with SSS due to 1) periodically non-uniform in circumferential direction axial loading; 2) periodical initial imperfections in the case of uniform axial loading; 3) periodical initial imperfections in the case of external pressure for cylindrical and conical shells. In the first three cases "resonance" was find out by geometrically non-linear solution and consist in 40-50% limit load decrease. For the imperfect conical shell this effect was find out by linear solution and consist in 30% critical load decrease.
