Likhachova O. Sсientific, journalistic and public activity of A.I. Georgievsky

О.I. Georgievsky's biography and intellectual legacy are studied in this dissertation for the first time. It is based on a wide range of published and archival sourses. Main features of formation of his social and political attitudes are revealed. His historical works were carefully studied and their place and scientific concern in the general development of the historical science of the 19th century was determined. His participation in reforming education of the Russia Empire was also scrutinized. His considerable influence to the development of regional, central and scientific media of the second part of the XIX th century is proved. Specifics of his activity in the post of Senator is demonstrated. Genesis of his social preferences from liberal to confident statesman views towards the end of his life.
