Essay

Cross sections of the Fe(n,xg), Bi(n,xg) and Cd(n,xg) reactions are meaured within energy region 2-20 MeV. New Giant dipole resonance (GDR) parameters with uncertainties are estimated. New systematics for GDR parameters are obtained. Simple method of evaluation of vibrational enhancement factor of nuclear level density using of average boson occupation numbers is proposed. Sensitivity of the calculated cross sections to optical potential, nuclear level densities and radiative strength functions is considered. Optimal set of input parameters which give the best agreement between theoretical results and experimental data is given.
