Factors that caused appearance of scientific interest to the fairy tales of Crimean peoples are considered in the dissertation. Especially an attention is focused on the sources that help to discover the character of the mythological understanding: folk arts , traditional culture, history. The history of gathering and publication of Crimean - Tatar fairy tales is found. Theoretical and methodological issues that appeared in a process of research of mythologizm of the folk fairy tales are analyzed. For the first time was done comparative analysis between Crimean-Tatar and Ukrainian folk fairy tales. Figuratively-symbolical system of these compositions reflects national differences in world perception and world outlook. The functionality of fabulous epic is argued as a preservation and transmission of traditional folk knowledge on micro and macro levels, both artistic and informative text, aimed at updating of ethnic origin consciousness of recipient, as a means of intercultural communication.
