Essay

The dissertation is devoted to development of the method, algorithms and programs for calculation of synthetic seismograms in a vertically heterogeneous half-space. The expressions describing direct seismic P-, SV- and SH-waves by a variable in time and arbitrarily directed force acting - a primary wave field - has been derived. It has enabled using of matrix method to mathematically model propagation of waves in vertically heterogeneous isotropic dissipative half-space when source is represented with single force or tensor. Algorithms and programs for calculation synthetic seismograms have been compiled based on approach developed for solving the direct problem.
