Essay

Dissertation is based on a wide range of recently declassified documents of U.S. President Reagan's administration and other sources and publications. American policy of the 1st half of 1980-ies to destabilize the USSR fuel and energy complex as the main pillar of the Soviet economy is studied in the dissertation. Author has analized thoroughly the causes of occurence of the energy factor in U.S. foreign policy during Reagan's presidency, the practical measures taken by the United States in the energy sector against the Soviet Union to weaken it maximally, and their consequences. The progress of the adoption of Reagan Administration decision on the embargo on oil-and-gas technologies to the communist bloc countries is revealed within dissertation.
