Essay

The purpose of the monitoring is to evaluate quality characteristics of the welded joints by the parameters of the welding process. Criteria of quality evaluation were developed. Computer model of flash-butt welding process was developed. The model includes electrical characteristics of the welding equipment and physical characteristics of the workpieces to be welded. Methods of automated monitoring of the technological process in real-time mode were developed as well as methods of data processing during the process analysis. Technology of automated evaluation of the quality of welded joints and prediction of defects' appearance in them was developed.
