Shleymovich M. Activity of Russia in UN concerning the counteraction to international terrorism, 2000 - 2008

The writer of dissertation has researched the history of the activity of Russia in UN concerning the counteraction to international terrorism in 2000 - 2008 years on the basis of the official documents of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, documentation of UN and wide range of additional materials. The system of factors which in 2000 - 2008 years determined possibilities of Russian diplomacy in counterterrorist work under the aegis of UN is revealed. The essence and actual content of the contribution of Russian diplomacy to the forming of the international legal bases and the institutional support of the counterterrorist work under the aegis of UN in the period under study are exposed. It is well-proven that in the indicated time the public activity of Russia in UN concerning the counteraction to international terrorism was consistent, directed at the support of the idea of creation of the universal counterterrorist coalition, realization of the foreign-policy aims officially proclaimed by Moscow. The evolution of activity of the Russian diplomats in UN concerning the counteraction to international terrorism is retraced.
