Essay

Dissertation is devoted to development of theoretical thesis and practical recommendations for refining of the information providing for socio-economic development of regions (SEDR) taking into account features of socio-economic and socio-cultural potential of every region. The research specifies the concept of «information» and «information providing». The rating of socio-economic position of the regions of Ukraine, based on an assessment of the «level of the information providing for socio-economic development of regions», is provided. The estimation of the level of the information providing for development of socio-economic potential of regions is carried out on the basis of cluster analysis. The research represents a program of measures for the regions-leaders included in fifth, third and second clusters and for the outsiders (first cluster) of the rating of level of the information providing for socio-economic development of regions. The most influential factors of the information providing for socio-economic development of region are defined: library fund, total amount of expenses of enterprises engaged in innovations, the number of unemployed persons and availability of the computer engineering stock. The research examinees the features of every factor adjusting individually on the purpose of development of organizationally-economic mechanism of improvement of the information providing for socio-economic development of the regions of Ukraine. For the effective informational and informational-analytical provision of innovative processes at regional level the research suggests to form the system of the information providing of SEDR comprising it in four subsystems. This, in turn, will result in creation of the efficiently functioning informative system that will contribute to economy of regions of Ukraine transition to a qualitatively new socio-economic development state.
