Object - the development of industrial potential of the region; goal - the development of scientific and methodological principles of assessment of the industrial potential of the region and identification of strategic directions for its further development in modern terms, methods - analysis, synthesis, comparison, history, logic, abstraction and systematic approach, SWOT-analysis, structural-functional approach, correlation and regression analysis, the method of principal components, cluster analysis, tabularly and graphics; novelty - built an econometric model of the development of the industrial potential of the Poltava region, which is based on retrospective evaluation and forecasting and allows to determine the influence of dominant regional factors (human, investment, research and innovation and environmental) on the growth of gross value added of industry of the region, identify trends, issues and available resources for further development of the industrial potential of the region, providing a holistic approach to identify strategic directions, methods and tools to control its development results - Theoretical and methodological basis of industrial potential, the essence category "industrial potential of the region," meaning the processes of development and use, systematic factors of development of the methodical evaluation of the development and use of the industrial potential of the region, identified strategic directions and priorities of industrial potential regions of Ukraine, held forecasting the development of industrial potential, the proposed objectives and instruments of its regulation, the industry - the development of productive forces and regional economy.
