Essay

The thesis deals with permanent magnet synchronous motors, their energetic performances under given cost-benefit constraints. Approaches for construction optimization are given, special control algorithms for torque pulsation minimization are proposed. Energy-saving control principles are considered. The expediency of PMSM-based electric drive is proven in terms of energy efficiency. The analysis of conventional synchronous motors design schemes is carried out. Existing control systems' performances are examined. New solutions providing required energetical and dynamical performances under minimal production costs are proposed. The control system for PMSM-based drive with internal magnets for high efficiency and low ripple pulsations is proposed. Unlike known principles, the new control algorithm provides simultaneous operation of MMPA control principle with reactive torque damping. The solutions developed and the control algorithms were tested in industrial environment and are being applied in current production in Bauer Gear Motor GmbH, Germany.
