Essay

Object of research - introduced deciduous species of the genus Magnolia L. using the West region of Ukraine as a case study. Purpose - to study the ability of representatives of the deciduous species of the genus Magnolia L. to the vegetative and generative reproduction in different agrotechnical conditions to meet the needs of masspropagation in the region. Methods of research - reconnaissance, biometric, biochemical, forestry and forest valuation methods, reforestation, experimental breeding and mathematical-statistical methods. Scientific novelty. In the course of the studies we first analyzed and summarized the current state, bioecological and biometric features of the magnolia plantations in the Western regionof Ukraine. The influence of major climatic factors on the rhythms of phenological development analyzed. It was found that deciduous magnolia lay vegetative and mixed vegetative-generative buds. Climatic factors and fruiting intensity significantly affect the increase of tree trunks flowing magnolias in diametr. It's maximum is observed at the age of 20-30 years. Seed potential of the studied species of the genus Magnolia L. in this particular region is sufficient for their reproduction and reaching mass of 310-772 seeds per plant. In freshly collected seeds a significant share growth inhibitors is concentrated in sarkotesta. The highest content of the sarkotesta in seeds characterize Magnolia tripetala (78,3%) and M. х soulangiana (76.6%). For other species seeds the content of the sarkotesta ranges 50-70%. It is experimentally confirmed that expediency of preparation magnolia sarkotesty cleared seeds. Better rooting summer cuttings magnolia received at IBA stimulant in the form of aqueous solution concentration of 5-10 g/l - 27-39% or talcous powder - 5-10 mg/g - 48-64%. Field of application: forestry.
