The dissertation is the first in the Ukrainian folklorystics integrity investigation of dance songs. It focuses on the question that have not been the subject of a separate research before.The work givesthe generalized characteristic of a history of fixation, edition and research of the Ukrainian dance songs made by ethnographers and specialists in folklore. The definition of specific and genre features of regional varieties of dance songs occupies the central place of the thesis.
