Essay

The pathway of serotonin biosynthetic, the carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, biochemical indexes in blood serum were analyzed under streptozotocin-induced diabetes mellitus 2 type. The results we received show that a disorder of functioning of the serotonin biosynthesis pathway take place under streptozotocin-induced diabetes mellitus 2 type. There were showed the increase of serotonin contest in rat blood serum and decrease - in its brain. Meta-chlorophenilpiperasine is non-selected agonist of 5-HT1R, 5-HT1AR, 5-HT2R and 5-HT2CR. It caused the increase of tryptophan and serotonin contest and the decrease of tryptophanhydroxylase activity in brain of rats with streptozotocin-induced diabetes mellitus 2 type. Under such conditions it was observed normalization of blood glucose in rats with an experimental model of diabetes mellitus 2 type. Under para-chlorophenilalanine injections the content of serotonin in the brain and serum of rats went up, meanwhile tryptophanhydroxylase activity went down. Such inhibition of serotonin synthesis provoked the initial stages of development of diabetes mellitus 2 type that was accompanied by increased concentrations of glucose, glycated hemoglobin and the emergence of insulin resistance.
