Essay

Dissertation investigates kinetics of formation of adsorbed and unadsorbed borderline oil films in transient operating conditions with allowance for the processes of oil decomposition; quantifies kinetics of change in physicochemical and rheologic parameters of oil during operating time; studies dynamics of strength properties of a light surface layer of sliding couple and sliding and rolling friction pair; analyzes wear mechanism of contact surfaces by lubrication with oil of continuous operational time. After evaluation of test data, a numerical scheme of forecasting tribotechnical characteristics of synthetic motor oils was developed on the basis of regression equations which estimate intensity of accumulation of finely divided organic and inorganic mechanical impurities due to long-term deterioration of oil.
