Essay

The thesis aim is at the numerical study of heat transfer and hydrodynamics in the rib roughened leading edge cooling channel of gas turbine blades. The local heat transfer, averaged heat transfer at the wall representative regions, the friction factor and vortex flow structures in the channel were studied at constant Reynolds number of 100000. The rib configuration, the cross-sectional shape and the partial ribbing influence were investigated. Based on the investigations new correlations were developed. The rotation effect and uniform wall temperature effect were investigated. Thermo-hydraulic analysis was also carried out.
