Essay

The thesis is devoted to the study of reproductive capabilities of Picea abies and P. pungens in plantations for introduction in the South East of Ukraine, it also investigates the loss of allozyme variability of P. abies under conditions of introduction in comparison with natural populations. It has been established that reproductive potential of P. abies under condition of introduction is realized fully. Emissions of steel works do not considerably reduce the reproductive capability of P. pungens. No considerable loss of allozyme variability of natural populations has been observed in the plantation of P. abies, not great in number of individual trees. A portion of cross-pollination of plants under conditions of introduction is similar to that of natural population plants. Seed buds of both natural population and plantation have much lower level of allozyme heterozygosity in comparison with mother trees.
