The object -is erosion processes in soil in forest stands of Novgorod-Siverske Polissya; the purpose - is to identify ways of optimization of soil erosion protective forest stands on the right native bank of the Desna river in Novgorod-Siverske Polissya; methods - of forestry and forest-taxation, comparative ecology, pedological, agrochemical, botanical, mathematics and statistics; novelty - for the first time in Novgorod-Siverske Polissya the causes of linear erosion on land hydrographic fund associated with changes in soil forming processes on forest-covered areas, depending on their location in the structure of land, slope exposition, origin, stand density, abundance of ground vegetation, range of forest meliorative stands influence on soil chemical properties was determined, the maximum area between belts was grounded, the set of quantitative planar and linear erosion indices on lands of watersheds or gully network was found out, advantages and disadvantages of hydraulic structures that operate within the erosion complexes was found out; results - practical approaches to evaluation and creation of against-erosion forest stands and other ways of phytomelioration of eroded and lands with risk of erosion of the right native bank of Desna river within Novgorod-Seversk Polesie on ecological principles and forest typology basis; field of use - is forestry.
