Michajlov P. Dynamics of pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) seed quality in the north-eastern Ukraine

The object - is seed quality of Scotch Pine in the North-East of Ukraine; the purpose - is study of complex indicators of seeds quality dynamics of Scotch Pine and to improve methods of evaluating of seeds quality; methods - forest seed breeding, mathematics and statistics; the novelty - the first for the conditions of the North-East of Ukraine cumulative electronic database of seeds quality of Scotch Pine was created for each forestry enterprise in the region of Kharkov State Area Forest Seed Inspection; peculiarities of dynamics of complex indicators of pine seeds quality for long-term period was find out; peculiarities of air temperature and humidity influence on mass, germination energy and germination of pine seeds were studied; new method of allocating categories of potential germination of pine seeds was developed; the amount of own seeds with improved hereditary properties in forestry enterprises was determined; the results - electronic database in Kharkov State Area Forest Seeds Inspection was created and supported with set of indices of pine seeds quality in the context of forestry units, forestry enterprises, regional forestry administrations; the method for determination of the categories of potential germination of seeds are applied by State Forest Seed Inspection of Ukraine; field of use - is forestry.
