Essay

The thesis is devoted to solving the actual problem of improving the analytical method for calculation of screw groove thrust bearings of screw pumps, which takes into account, unlike previous researchers, taper rotating surface with screw thread and viscosity nature of flow of fluid in the thrust bearing. According to the obtained analytical dependencies developed an iterative algorithm. The calculations of the curves for the static characteristics of the screw groove thrust bearing with conical and cylindrical abutment of the triple-screw pump for lubricating system of gas turbine ship engines are performed. It is established that the rational choice of the geometric parameters of the screw groove can increase the load capacity of the screw groove thrust bearings in 1.3 times and to reduce the power losses by a friction on 46%. The experimental stand is created, experimental researches are executed and the analysis of the experimental data of static characteristics of thrust. It is shown that theory and experience are in good agreement with each other.
