Essay

The thesis is devoted to observe regularity of swelling 08Kh18N10Т steel under ion irradiation and the construction of predictive dependence of radiation swelling of the baffle ring of a VVER-1000 reactor during long-term operation. The systematic data on swelling of 08Kh18N10Т steel in solution annealed and 5 % cold-worked conditions under different irradiation parameters (dose, temperature, dose rate, concentration of hydrogen and helium) are obtained by the method of simulation by accelerator. It is revealed that low degrees of deformation on the level 5 % CW negligible change the features of swelling. The differences in the effect of helium and hydrogen on the processes of swelling versus irradia-tion temperature variation are established. A function which describes the swelling of the investigated steel in a wide range of doses, temperatures and dose rates is constructed as for reactor conditions as for irradiations to the ion accelerators. Prediction of 08Kh18N10Т steel swelling behaviour over a cross-section of the baffle ring of a VVER-1000 reactor during long-term operation 30 - 60 years is made.
