Essay

The Dniester Basin rivers hydro-chemical regime spatial-temporal dynamics is studied. Peculiarities in said rivers' chemical composition change peculiarities depending upon their water content change are highlighted. On the example of the Dniester Basin, methodical scheme to realize complex hydrochemical studies is suggested. Within the Ukrainian portion of the basin, six types of the rivers' chemical composition are outlined according to Kurlov's formula. The Dniester's chemical substances removal to the territory of Moldova is assessed and seasonal distribution of said substances is presented. The Dniester Basin surface waters quality by categories is assessed as suggested in Methods for Ecological Assessment of Surface Waters Quality. Spatial-temporal changes in the basin rivers (Ukrainian territory) quality are disclosed and distinctive factors of said rivers pollution are analyzed.
