Essay

Investigation object - the interaction of electromagnetic fields with surface defect in a cylindrical object of control, causing uncertainty in making decisions based on control. Objective: development of methods and devices that increase the reliability of eddy current monitoring in detecting and identifying defects geometrical parameters of cylindrical products in a uniform transverse electromagnetic field, given the errors of the first and second kind. Methods and apparatus: Analytical and numerical methods for solving boundary value problems of electrodynamics of continuous media, the methods of linear algebra and mathematical analysis, elements of probability theory and mathematical statistics. Theoretical and practical results: The method of determining the basic geometric sizes of defects, based on a comparison of family settlement transducer signals from the transducer signals from real defects. Novelty: the method of calculation of eddy current transducer with transverse field, based on the superposition of the excitation field and the field induced linear eddy currents in a defective and defect-free region object control. Degree of implementation: implemented a joint-stock company "Kharkivoblenergo" for contactless control of the presence of defects in the wheel armored power cables. Scope: results are used for energy sector companies.
