Novikov A. The features of the shoot structure of the species from Eastern Carpathians' genus Aconitum L. (Ranunculaceae Juss.)

The thesis is a comprehensive anatomical and morphological study of the shoot structure, regularity of its organization and investigation of taxonomical features of the genus Aconitum representatives of the Eastern Carpathians flora. It has been ascertained that the genus Aconitum in the Eastern Carpathians is represented by 12 species (22 taxa of different rank), which belong to three subgenera - Aconitum, Lycoctonum and Anthora. Investigated species are of two main models of the shoot development, three morphotypes of overground shoot and form four biomorphological groups. As a result, 34 perspective diagnostic features are described. The leaf/internode index and helm total height index, stomatal length and stomatal area are suggested as additional taxonomical features for the first time. Four types of the petiolar vascular system organization were described for the main sections of Eastern Carpathians' genus Aconitum. On the base of data obtained and its statistical analysis, the critical evaluation of the modern classification system of the genus Aconitum is given. On the base of the investigation of flower morphological variability three morphotypes of A. anthora s.l. were described. Taxonomical groundlessness of A. ?triste, A. ?baumgartenianum and A. ?hebegynum have been ascertained. Taxonomical revision of the genus Aconitum in the Ukrainian Carpathians' flora had been conducted and new illustrated key for identification and maps of the distribution were prepared.
