Subject of investigation - electrochemical processes taking place on DSA that were obtained at different conditions. The aim of the research was ascertainment of correlation between the preparation conditions of DSA active layer titanium oxides-platinum and its physicochemical, electrochemical properties. Research methods - voltammetry with line sweep of potential, steady-state, cyclic, inverse voltammetry, electrode impedance (investigation of electrochemical behavior and semiconducting properties), gravimetry, amperometric titration, potentiometry, spectrophotometry (solution analysis), scanning electron microscopy, EDX, X-ray diffraction, X-ray phase analysis, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (investigation of electrode surface morphology, structure and composition of active layer). Theoretical and practical results: effect of chemical and phase composition of active surface layer of composite anodes TixOy/Pt on its electrocatalytic activity and selectivity was investigated. Composite anodes TixOy/Pt obtained on Ti substrate at 683 K and any of based on Ebonex anodes are recommend to be used in a trivalent chromium bath. The novelty of statements and results: it was shown that variation of Pt quantity, temperature and duration of treatment leads to changes in morphology, chemical and phase composition of TixOy/Pt-anodes what affords to control their electrocatalytic activity and selectivity. The influence of preparation conditions on semiconducting properties of composite TixOy/Pt-anodes was studied. Increase in treatment temperature and quantity of platinum results in decrease in current efficiency of Cr(VI)-compounds. Field of application: proposed composite TixOy/Pt-electrodes can be used as DSA in electroplating processes.
