Essay

The thesis is devoted to the investigation of some subsemigroups of the symmetric inverse semigroup: the semigroup of partial co-finite almost monotone injective transformations of the set of positive integers, the semigroup of injective almost identity partial selfmaps of a set of infinite cardinal, the semigroup of closed connected partial homeomorphisms of the unit interval with a fixed point and the semigroup of all connected partial homeomorphisms of the unit interval with a fixed point. We describe the Green relations, homomorphisms (congruences), ideals and semigroup topologies on this semigroups.
