Essay

The object of the research – etruscans society and state. The dissertation purpose – determination of social-political organization and structures of state authority in etruscans society in VIII-III centuries BC on the basis of complex research of historical sources. Methods: comparative-historical, historical-typological, historical-genetic; historical-philological, linguistic analysis of the terms; a complex method of decoding of etruscans inscriptions. Scientific novelty: there are given in the paper the criteria to identify social ranks and their contents, to characterise each of the ranks of the Etruscan society; there are also explained substantial features of the Etruscan city-state, described the genesis and development of the regal authority, given interpretation of terms, with which the royal title was signified. It is described a process of shift from monarchy to oligarchy, interpreted names of the magistrates in Etruscan poleis; it is also described the process of establishment and activity of the Etruscan dodecapolis. Practical value of research: the received results can be used by preparation of articles and monographies on a history of Ancient Rome appropriate courses of lectures, textbooks and manuals on a history of early Rome and Italy, for creation of sites in a network the Internet. Sphere of use: higher educational institutions.
