Object of study-process machining tools of high speed steel with film coatings. The purpose of research, identify opportunities for improving the durability of tools from high speed steel by coating with different adhesive properties. Methods: A study based on the theory of cutting, maintenance tools and manufacturing engineering. Specifications of coatings investigated by: trybometra (relative adhesion activity of films) device to determine the strength of clutch cover with the base by applying scratches.
