Essay

The periods of the women's movement in Tunisia during the recent history are presented and explained. The history of the influence of political and legal reforms of Tunisian government to change the gender situation in society is analysed. The reflect of specific gender representations and practices of Tunisian society in historical perspective are shown. The certain degree of influence of the French colonial regime to modernize Tunisian society in the context of gender is reflected. The analysis of specificity of gender relations in Islamic society is given in dissertation too.
