Martynova N. Biologic-ecological bases of ground cover plants selection in Steppe Prydniprovie conditions

The dissertation is devoted to the studying of ground cover plant biologic- ecological features, reaction to a complex of environment adverse factors, to definition of their role in optimization urbanized environment and expediency of their use in gardening of territories with various level of pollution and increased mineralization of soil. The influence of stressful factors on ground cover plant phenological rhythms, morphometric indicators, on an antioxidant enzymatic system state is investigated. The content of SH-groups in soluble proteins of ground cover plant leaves as one of heavy metal protective mechanisms is defined. The gas absorbing and metal accumulating capacity of investigated species is studied. The species which can be used as phytomeliorative plantings for optimization environment are allocated.
