Shaikhullina A. U.S.A. policy towards Azerbaijan in 1993 - 2000.

The thesis deals with the integrated analysis of the formation of the policy of the USA towards Azerbaijan in the period of 1993 - 2000 and its realization. The studying of the wide range of authentic documents enables the author to determine the role of the Caspian region and Azerbaijan in the foreign policy doctrine of the White House. The author also reveals the struggle in the ruling circles of the USA on the formation of Azerbaijan policy in the 90s of the XX century as well as at the beginning of the XXI century. The impact of foreign factors on the policy of Washington towards Azerbaijan is analyzed. The author reveals the crux of American proposals of solving Armenia-Azerbaijan territory contradictions. The position of the White House towards Geidar Aliev's "oil" strategy is revealed. The author also outlines both the geostrategic and the economic targets of Washington in financing the projects of intermodal communications while transporting the Caspian oil.
