Essay

The thesis is devoted to the study of psychological mechanisms of the social identity transformation of rural youth during migration to city. It was found out that the main psychological mechanisms of the social identity transformation of rural youth who has migrated to city are "idealization of in-group", "deidealization of in-group", "group deidentification", "active involving", "idealization of the Self", "deidealization of the Self", "conformism", "confrontation". It was shown that the process of social identity transfomation and these mechanisms' functioning realize on two stages.
