Object - a technology for growing of pine and oak seedlings in containers and use them for creation of forest plantations; Aim - to improve the technology of growing of pine and oak seedlings in containers on the base of study of growth and viability of seedlings and evaluation of their effectiveness for creation of forest plantations; Methods - biometric, reforestation, mathematical-statistical; Novelty - the first time for conditions of Steppe of the Left Bank of Ukraine peculiarities of growth and development of containerized pine and oak seedlings grown in open soil and forest plantations, created by these seedlings, were studied; it was proved that containerized seedlings of oak and pine have the highest germination, viability, mass and biometrics while using a substrate with the same content of soil and peat; influence of absorbents and plant growth stimulants on the growth and survival of containerized pine seedlings; pine seedlings growing in containers for one or two growing seasons, and oak for three months since sowing was grounded; economical efficiency of pine and oak seedlings growing in containers in green houses and in open soil with different types of substrates is calculated; Results - technological methods of pine and oak seedlings growing in containers (container type, composition of substrate, dates and duration of growing); Branch - forestry.
