Vinnitsa G. The genocide of the Jewish population of the eastern regions of Belarus in 1941–1944.

The dissertation paper is a detailed study of the Holocaust in the five eastern region of the Byelorussian SSR during the World War II. On the basis of a wide array of sources, the author states its own reasoned interpretation of the tragic events of the past. The work is the first comprehensive study in the historiography of this issue, the results of which reveal the specifics, the main lines, forms and methods of implementation of the genocide of the Jewish population on the eastern part of Belarus. The paper contains the critical evaluation of the Judenrats and collaborators involved in the mass extermination of Jews in the region. It highlights the role of the “righteous of the world” in saving the Jews. The number of victims of the Holocaust in Eastern Belarus is specified in the paper.
