Essay

The thesis is devoted to developing of mesomorphic composite of metal alkanoate with semiconductive cadmium chalcogenide nanoparticles (NP). It has been proposed a method of synthesis of NP CdS and CdSe with narrow size distribution and homogenous localization in ionic liquid crystalline cadmium alkanoates. Mesomorphic glassy nanocompsites doped with CdS or CdSe NP have been obtained in binary systems of cadmium capronate with zinc, magnesium. strontium, lithium, sodium and potassium capronates. Influence of cationic composition of mesomorphic glass to CdS and CdSe NP sizes has been shown. Obtained nanocomposites are promising as active media in optical limiters due to the fast self-defocusing and nonlinear absorption.
