Essay

The thesis deals with the examination of the typological and specific conditions in the basins of the rivers under research. The work is also based on the surface water quality evaluation and explanation of the quality criteria elaborated for the evaluation of the river water quality from the view point of its use. The study represents an analysis of the main source of river water contamination in West Georgia. The typology of the studied water bodies elaborated according to the requirements of the Water Framework Directive allowed to mark out 13 river types in the region.
