Research object: forming, use and increase of innovative potential of region in modern terms. Research purpose: generalization of theoretical, analysis of practical and development of scientifically-methodical positions and recommendations in relation to organizational principles of increase of innovative potential of region on the basis of improvement of maintenance and mechanisms of realization of regional innovative strategy. Research methods: dialectical; analysis and synthesis; to scientific abstraction; system, statistical, comparative and SWOТ-analysis; rating estimation; structural functional approach. Theoretical and practical results consist in deepening, subsequent development and improvement of scientific and theoretical positions in relation to the orgware of increase of innovative potential of region in modern terms. Theoretical conclusions are taken to the level of concrete recommendations, suitable to application in practical activity. Drawn on research results in activity: Main administration of economy of Donetsk regional state administration, Management of economy of Makeevka city advice of the Donetsk area, LTD. "Tekhnopark of DonNTU "UNITEKH"". Scientific novelty: going is improved near the rating evaluation of innovative potentials on the basis of the use of quantitative indexes of the state of their segments. The features of structure of innovative potential are exposed and effectiveness of innovative activity is appraised in a region. The methods of forming of economic strategies of region are certain on the basis of the use of SWOT-analysis of separate elements of difficult macroeconomic objects. The structure of mechanism of orgware of innovative development of region is improved. The necessity of the use of innovative potential of region is grounded for providing of intensive type of growth of his economy. Strukturizaciya of innovative potential of region is specified through a selection in him of two components and three segments. Theoretical positions are generalized in relation to co-operation of the state, society and business. Maintenance of the stages of change of types of development of the economic system of region is certain from extensive to intensive. The sphere of the use is activity of Ministry of economic development and trade of Ukraine; Main administrations of economy, regional development, education and science of regional state administrations; commissions on an economy and investments, on questions of science and formation of city advices; subjects of innovative activity; scientific establishments and higher educational establishments.
