Essay

The dissertation is concerned with the features and regularities of heat transport in monoatomic alcohols in different stable and long-lived metastable solid states at low temperatures. It has been found that the low temperature thermal conductivity of alcohols in the structural glass state is dependent on the mass of the alcohol molecule. This behaviour is universal and well described within the soft potential model. The temperature dependence of the thermal conductivity in the orientational glass state is similar in behaviour and magnitude to the corresponding dependence of the structural glass.
