Essay

The investigation of the physico-chemical properties of the mixed two- and three-metal oxide catalysts in the selective oxidation of carbon monoxide in the presence of hydrogen showed that the high activity and selectivity of the samples studied in the CO oxidation are caused by the formation of the active phases of spinels and in case of the Cu-Fe oxide system - the phase of delafossite CuFeO2. The CuO/Cu2(OH)3NO3(Co2+/Fe3+) composite catalyst showed high activity and selectivity in the CO oxidation only in the small excess of hydrogen.
