Essay

It is shown that the absence of retynil ester in liver cells leads to the intensification of superoxide anion generation in the mitochondrial fraction at the initial stages of liver regeneration, whereas in microsomal fraction it is observed during active proliferation of liver cells. The most intensive formation of nitric oxide and NO-synthase activity increase occur at the initial period of liver regeneration. Under the absence of retynil esters, the regeneration in the liver is accompanied with the decrease of cytochrome P-450 and glutathione-S-transferase activities during the whole experimental period.
