The thesis is devoted to study the effect of stress factors, such as salt stress and nitric oxide donors, on free radical processes in wild type and tocopherol-deficient lines vte1 and vte4 of Arabidopsis thaliana. It can be suggested, that the lack of all forms of tocopherol may be compensates by the increase in concentrations of other low molecular mass antioxidants, such as carotenoid, anthocyanin and glutathion in response to stress factors. At the same time, the lack of alpha- and beta-tocopherols may be compensates by the increase in activity of the main antioxidant enzymes, such as superoxide dismutase and enzymes of ascorbate-glutathione cycle.
