The paper presents the results of the research which demonstrate the content of social and psychological mechanisms of identification (in the manifestations of assimilation, clich?-communication, interpretation), separation (solitude and parity), emancipation, differentiation. Their place in adolescents' personal identity formation in complete and incomplete nuclear families, basic sibling positions is explored. The role of these mechanisms in adolescents' personal identity formation in different variants of nuclear family is considered.
