The object of study - the process of electrode coatings hydrophobic fluorine-calcium type by applying a protective layer of water-resistant polymer composition. Purpose - to develop the composition and manufacturing of electrodes with low hygroscopicity for manual arc welding. Methods: Theory of welding processes, welding and determination of technological, physical and mechanical properties, chemical composition of weld metal, the theory of experimental, mathematical statistics. Novelty - was further developed evaluation method of welding and technological properties of the electrodes, allowing to scientifically organize search coating ingredients with the necessary protective properties as a function of the thickness of the applied layer, the first time: It was found that the deposition on the surface of the electrode coating composition based on a two-component liquid glass with the addition of magnesium chloride reagent reduces the intensity of water absorption by eliminating surface defects found that the use of the monomer compositions based on styrene, acrylonitrile and dialilovogo esters of phthalic acid, creates a surface electrode coating polymer film that eliminates absorbent exchange with the environment, and to ensure that regulated by GOST moisture coating before welding; improved method of removing moisture resistant protective layer on the surface composition of the electrode coating, by the introduction of the water-resistant composition exothermic mixture. Results: A composition of waterproof protective composition and method of making water-resistant electrodes for welding and building, the methods of determining the properties of water-resistant protective compositions. Results are introduced by PJSC "Kramatorsk metal" (Kramatorsk) PJSC "Kramatorsk Metallurgical Plant. Kuibyshev "(Kramatorsk) and" NIIPTmash - Pilot Plant "(Kramatorsk), with a total savings of 159.5 thousand UAH. Industry - mechanical engineering.
