Essay

Dissertation is devoted to the studies of peculiarities in the magnetic susceptibility and magnetization of anisotropic transition metal compounds with metalloids. The effects of temperature, impurities, uniform and uniaxial compressions were studied in details. The magnetic and magnetoelastic properties were studied experimentally for transition metal diborides, Fe-based HTSCs and itinerant antiferromagnets based on d-elements by using SQUID-magnetometer and pendulum-type magnetometer. The analysis of experimental data on magnetic and magnetoelastic properties was carried out on the basis of the ab initio calculations of electronic structure and magnetic susceptibility within the density functional theory.
