Morfluk-Shchur V. The methods and tools for digital control quality of color reproduction of offset printing

This degree work is devoted to the research of color reproduction processes within offset printing aiming at development of methods and instruments of digital controls over the quality of color reproduction using statistical measurement tools and processing of color-reproduction characteristics, compilation of application software using colorful models for automation of color management processes. For assessment of the quality of color reproduction, measurement and analysis of color features of control chart's die on a print sheet using CIE Lab models are performed and, based on these measurement, color difference CIE dE2000M and dot gain are calculated. Algorithm of unbiased digital control over color reproduction is designed and application software for automotive definition of color reproduction characteristics is developed. Recommendations to improve the quality of technological process of color reproduction are composed. Introduction of abovementioned developed methodology into the printing production process resulted in 5% waste reduction and annual cost-reduction effect of 103718,85 UAH.
