Object of study: the formation and use of the competitive potential of the regions of Ukraine in the system to ensure their competitiveness, the purpose of the study: is the scientific foundation of theoretical and methodological approaches, practical mechanisms and tools for efficient creation and use of competitive potential of the regions of Ukraine in modern terms, methods of research: methods of historical analysis, comparative, functional, structural and systematic approach to its subject-object and functional and structural aspects, theoretical and practical results: the model of integrated management mechanism changes the competitive potential in the region, the interpretation of the category of "competitive potential of the region" as aggregate institutional matrix territorial entities, factors of production and office property owned by economic agents geographically localized system, the structure of the competitive advantages of the region in which, according to the classifications of content and functionality, the period covered, the territorial limits of, the type of power, opportunities implementation, highlighted its components; pyramidal hierarchy of competitive strategies of the region, the definition of the integral index of regional competitiveness as a form of its competitive potential and to identify contradictions in the economic and institutional development; degree of implementation: development implemented in the practical activities of the Economic Cherkasy Regional State Administration, apparatus Parliament Ukraine, universities CSTU.
